MotoGP 2016 is just around the corner and continuing our series of previews with rider-turned commentator Neil Hodgson, we’ve got his views ahead of what’s set to be a fantastic and dramatic racing season:
I’m really excited about this season. Last year was the best season I can ever remember and it had everything – drama, rivalry, bitterness. Rossi, the veteran, went into the last race and still had a chance of winning. That was phenomenal. Then there was then whole feud with Marquez. Marquez won’t have liked that one bit, or the fact that he lost his crown. And Rossi will want to prove that he deserved the title and that he can still challenge for honours.
This season is going to be explosive. All the main protagonists are still there. And they all have the desire, and the hunger to win – Lorenzo, Rossi and Marquez. And that’s before you consider the rule changes. Continue reading “Hodgson Previews ‘explosive’ MotoGP season”

Suzuki’s Maverick Viñales has continued to show the form that indicates he could have the speed and consistency to join the ‘aliens’ after topping the timesheets during Day Two of the pre-season test at Qatar.
The Spaniard looked fast all day on the GSX-RR, posting his best-time of 1’55.436 in his 28th out of 42 laps around the Losail circuit.
Today he continued the work on the set-up and the electronics, leaving the test of the new ‘up-and-down’ seamless gearbox until tomorrow, but today’s time is already 0.444s faster than his best of yesterday and nearly two-tenths-of-a-second closer to his qualifying time of last year’s debut race.
Vinãles said: “This was another positive day, not only for the fastest lap but also for the huge job we have done.
