Max Biaggi will test Ben Spies’ Pramac Racing Desmosedici GP13 over a two day test at Mugello. The test was originally to be ridden by the Texan however it became clear during the Mugello round at the weekend
|Biaggi won his second WSB title before retiring in October
that he was not fit enough to ride due to his recurring shoulder injuries and pulled out on the Saturday, ruling out an appearance in the test.
Biaggi retired from the World Superbike championship at the end of 2012 after winning his second WSBK title and took up the role of commentator for Italian TV. However, when recently probed Biaggi refused to rule out a return to racing as a wildcard but suggested a full season may be a bit beyond him. Biaggi last rode in MotoGP in 2005 and took 13 wins in the elite class in his career. The Italian also won 4 250cc world titles.
Pramac Racing confirm that Spies will miss the Catalunya round of MotoGP and say that at this moment, Ducati test rider Michele Pirro is set to replace the Texan once again however the wording suggests this is subject to change… Could we see Biaggi back in GP should his times over the next two days be good enough?
