Grillini BMW have confirmed Noriyuki Haga will race for the team at the Imola round of the World Superbike championship next month in a one-off event come-back to the series he left at the end of 2011.
|Haga will return to the championship in 2 rounds time.
Haga raced in the British Superbike series for 2012, having a somewhat disappointing season with Shaun Muir’s Swan Yamaha squad. It looked as though Haga would be on hiatus for 2013 until he was announced as part of a big-name shock line up for Team Kagayama to compete in the Suzuka 8 Hour alongside Kevin Schwantz.
It’s unclear whether Haga will make any further World Superbike appearances. Team boss Andrea Grillini said: “I am very happy to have reached an agreement with Haga and his management. For the Italian round Haga will be supported by a dedicated crew of technicians. I am sure that Haga’s return in Superbike is a great news for his fans and for the series itself”.
