Checa out for Race 2 due to shoulder pain

Alstare Ducati’s Carlos Checa will miss yet another race due to the shoulder injury he sustained at the start of the season. The Spaniard, who finished the first race in 12th place has opted out of racing in the second race

Checa also chose at the last minute to sit out of the Monza round earlier in the month due to the injured shoulder which he claims to have sustained in the race 1 incident at Phillip Island with Marco Melandri. Since setting pole at the Australian round, the Spaniard has had a string of poor performances with a best finish of 9th at Aragon.

The 2011 champion said on his twitter feed: First race still with pain in my shoulder so we have decided to not ride in the second race. I am looking forward to Portimao and hopefully a fast recovery”
