Repsol Honda rider, Dani Pedrosa heads to the French Grand Prix in Le Mans on a high following a hugely successful Jerez Grand Prix two weeks ago, then a productive test the following day. After his dominant victory in Jerez, the Spaniard currently lies in second, just three points behind rookie team mate Marc Marquez in the championship standings.
Pedrosa has previously finished on the podium at the legendary French circuit 6 times, with wins in the lower classes, but none in the premier class. The circuit should typically suit the Honda, with an abundance of first gear corners requiring hard acceleration. Incidentally, Pedrosa currently holds the fastest lap and circuit record at the circuit. The Spaniard will looking to be just as fast in the race on Sunday, finally getting the monkey off his back. “After a fantastic weekend in Jerez and a productive test on the Monday, I’m looking forward to going to Le Mans. I had good results in the past and I enjoy the circuit, so I’m hoping that the bike works well there. Practice management in Le Mans can sometimes be difficult and complicated due to the weather but I’m finding my comfort again on the bike and I’m working well with the team. I will go to France and aim to use all of my experience and remain focused for the whole weekend”
