session was somewhat of a blank canvas as unlike in yesterdays QP1, the track was dry.

Frenchman, Florian Marino – riding as replacement for the injured Davide Salom at the Intermoto Kawasaki squad found himself quite comfortable at the top of the timesheets for a large part of the session with only championship contenders Sam Lowes and Kenan Sofuoglu looking likely challengers. It looked as though the Frenchman, who was dropped from the Mahi Racing squad at the end of last season despite being told he had a ride for 2013, was going to
secure his career first pole position as he remained on top of the timesheets as the chequered flag fell. However, a rapid lap from the Yakhnich Yamaha rider saw him go 2 tenths faster on his last attempt.

Mahi Racing’s Sofuoglu rounds out the front row ahead of Italian Lorenzo Zanetti on the PATA Honda. It was an impressive outing for the Puccetti Kawasaki team taking fifth and sixth with Stefano Cruciani and Riccardo Russo respectively, while PATA honda rookie Michael van der Mark put his Honda in 7th. Scot Kev Coghlan who came into the session on top after posting the fastest wet time in the Friday session finished a respectable 8th place on the DMC Lorenzini Kawasaki ahead of Fabien Foret and  PTR Honda’s Luca Marconi.

Irishman Jack Kennedy qualified in 17th place whilst Christian Iddon on the MV Augusta F3 placed 26th.
