Rutter to reach 400th BSB start milestone at Oulton Park

Britsh Superbike stalwart Michael Rutter will celebrate his 400th BSB start this coming weekend at Round 3 of the Championship at Oulton Park in Cheshire. The Bathams Honda rider has recovered from the leg injury sustained pre-season and is determined to put in the best performance possible at what is one of the most popular circuits in the country.

To make the weekend even more special, Rutters long-time Sponsors Black Horse have commissioned the Midlanders helmet designers, Rage Designs, to produce a special one-off design Shoei in celebration of Rutters achievement. There will only be two of these very special Shoei helmets made, one is for Rutter to keep as a memento of the occasion and the other will be presented to a lucky winner through a competition to be run on the day, details of which will be announced soon.

Dave Macey of Black Horse said “If there is one name that is synonymous with motorcycle racing fans it’s the ‘Rutter’ name. With Michael it is not just about sponsoring one of the most popular and iconic British racers, it’s also about an association with a true talent who is enthusiastic and accessible to customers, happy to chat to clients and is someone who is genuinely pleased to be associated with your business. Black Horse is a leading motorcycle finance provider in the UK, with an expert team dedicated to supporting the industry, so it is a privilege to be associated with one of the leading road and track racers of our time.”

Michael Rutter has finished second twice and third three times in the hotly-contested domestic series and is showing no signs of relinquishing his place on the grid just yet. He said It’s hard to believe really, I used to look at the older riders when I was younger and think – ‘why don’t they retire’? – now I’m one of them and I have no plans to give up yet! I love BSB and I’ve got so close to winning the championship a few of times but for one reason or another it’s never quite happened. It’s because of the likes of Blackhorse, Bathams, E:Aide, Global Freight, Monster, Datatag, Petronas, Feridax, JRB Logistics, Townhouse Creative… and all my other sponsors that this can still happen and for that I’m truly grateful”.
