Eugene Laverty again took an early lead after a delayed start due to Jules Cluzel having issues on the grid, however the Northern Irishman crashed out in a matter of corners . This meant Sykes took the lead from Davies and Guintoli however the Brit went wide allowing Davies to take the lead on lap 2. The Welshman pulled the pin and didn’t look back from that point. Sykes then lost out to Guintoli and Marco Melandri in the next lap and Guintoli pulled away from the pair as Sykes struggled to get back past Melandri. The Huddersfield man got past after a mistake by the Italian. PATA Honda’s Jonathan Rea retired on lap 6 with brake issues, leaving Baz and Cluzel fighting for 6th pulling away from Rea’s team mate Leon Haslam.

Althea Aprilia’s Davide Giugliano got himself past Melandri and into 4th and managed to challenge Tom Sykes for third to the point of nearly crashing. The young Italian backed off towards the end of the race settling for 4th place. Baz and Cluzel continued to battle for 6th, the Kawasaki man ending on top.

These results mean Guintoli leads the championship by 22 points from Chaz Davies. Results below.
