Alex Lowes will start race one at Thruxton on pole position after a torrential down pour has led to the cancellation of BSB qualifying at Thruxton.
Following track inspections conditions were deemed unsuitable for riders to push for the top spot on the grid, which means all three practice times have been combined to form Sunday’s grid.
American rookie PJ Jacobsen will sit behind Lowes in second position, just 0.294 seconds off Lowes time of 1.16.412 at his first ever visit to the Hampshire track. Reigning champion Shane Byrne will start from third position, ahead of Josh Brookes who rounds off the front row.
Jacob Smrz will head the second row of the grid on his Padgett’s Honda, ahead of an injured Michael Rutter in 6th. Josh Waters is the first of the Milwaukee Yamaha’s, and Chris Walker completes the second row with a time of 1.17.555.
Buildbase BMW teammates John Kirham and James Westmoreland head row three infront of Karl Harris and Keith Farmer.
Lowes’ Samsung Honda teammate Ryuichi Kiyonari will start race one from 16th position at the back of the fourth row, one place ahead of Brands Hatch race two winner James Ellsion, who is 2 seconds off Alex’s time after experiencing technical difficulties in the second practice.
