BSB: Lowes from Farmer and Smrz in wet FP1

Lowes was in control for the majority of the session, only switching places with Padgett’s Jakub Smrz for a few minutes before re-claiming the top spot. Smrz looked set for second until Northern Ireland’s Keith Farmer putting in a 1’22.311, still over half a second off Lowes’ pace. The Czech ended putting his CBR1000RR into third place ahead of Tyco Suzuki’s Josh Brookes and defending champion, Shane Byrne. 
James Westmoreland shot into the top ten on his last lap, securing sixth place from Peter Hickman on the Lloyds British GBmoto Honda. Brands Hatch second race winner, James Ellison was 8th followed by his team mate, Josh Waters and Michael Rutter who is still riding with a broken leg. 
Ryuichi Kiyonari, despite running as high as fourth at one point ended the session in 11th from Danny Buchan, PJ Jacobsen, Tommy Bridewell and Howie Mainwaring. 
Jenny Tinmouth, Robbin Harms and Aaron Zanotti posted times that were out of the 107% whilst Chris Walker didn’t turn a wheel.
