Batham’s Honda man Michael Rutter has confirmed he will take part in the two MCE Insurance British Superbike races tomorrow after qualifying 17th on Saturday afternoon. The 40 year old broke his leg whilst
testing in France for the Honda TT Legends, with whom he’ll contest the 2013 Endurance World Championship.
Despite not having ridden a bike since the crash, Rutter took to the track on his Batham’s Hoinda for the first time in the third BSB practice session, Saturday morning where he came 21st. He then went on to battle through qualifying to make it through to the second qualification session, where he took his spot on the fifth row of the gird.
PaddockChatter asked Rutter following the qualifying session if he’d be racing on Sunday, the reply “Yeah, I’ll give it a go”. The first race is at 12:45 BST and the second 15:45 BST.
