Chaz Davies has said he is “reasonably happy” after a two day test for the Goldbet BMW Motorrad team at Jerez on Thursday & Friday. Davies was the sole superbike rider testing, as team mate Marco Melandri is at home in Italy recuperating from the shoulder surgery he had a few weeks back.
Davies, who finished 4th in the first race at Philip Island and crashed out of the second had highlighted that he was having some issues with the BMW’s electronics therefore this two day test was mainly focused on working on the bikes electronics. Davies, who did 114 laps over the two days said: “We accomplished a lot of work over the last two days and it was a very productive test. We fully focused on working on the electronics and tested a lot of new strategies. It was really interesting and we came up with solutions that have a lot of potential. There is some more work needed but we have another test in a couple of weeks. I think all was very positive, everybody has worked well and I am reasonably happy.”
Davies was joined at the track by the teams superstock riders, Sylvain Barrier and Greg Gildenhuys to prepare for the start of the Superstock 1000 cup, which begins at Aragon the same weekend of the second round of World Superbike Championship, 12-14 April.
