The morning session of day two in Texas is complete and once again its the Repsol Honda of Marc Marquez that still sits proudly at the top of the time sheets from an improving Stefan Bradl and World Champion Jorge Lorenzo in third.

The track, as yesterday, was slippery to begin with but came to the riders quite quickly to allow them to push for the times of day one. Marquez completed 25 laps this morning with a best lap of 2’04.363s on his 15th lap while team mate Dani Pedrosa completed 21 laps with with his best time of 2’04.686 being set on his penultimate lap of the morning.

Overall, times are much tighter as you would expect on day two with just 0.300s separating the first four riders. There is only a 30 minute break for lunch before the afternoon action commences.

Marquez said “This morning we have continued in the same direction as we finished yesterday, we’ve been working on gearbox and electronic settings as well as setting the geometry for this track. At the beginning, the track was again quite slippery which surprised me as I thought it would be better after yesterday, but it’s gradually getting better and I think it will be better this afternoon. We now have a good base and this is good to be able to start to try new things”

Pedrosa added “We’ve spent the morning doing more laps, the grip is pretty similar to yesterday so we’ve been making some changes with the gearbox to feel more comfortable with the gears through the corners. We also made a few changes with suspension, but as it is the first time here for us, it’s hard as we have nothing to compare it to as a reference”
