What ‘Big’ Jack Valentine would be doing this year has been a prominent topic of discussion after he was released from the Crescent Suzuki squad as team owner, Paul Denning took over the day to day running of the team. Finally, the plans have been announced – Valentine will take MV Augusta back to the TT with Gary Johnson contesting the supersport class on the brand new MV Augusta F3 675 under the ValMoto banner.

Valentine has previously taken David Jefferies and Bruce Anstey to victories on the Island and hopes to emulate this success with Johnson, who has one TT win under his belt from the supersport class. Valentine managed the Crescent Suzuki squad in BSB from 2008 through to their step up to the World class in 2012.

ValMoto will also run Johnson on the F3 at the North West 200 and UlsterGP and the team will be working closely with the ParkinGO MV Augusta team in World Supersport who impressed in their debut last week in Phillip Island.

Team sponsors and livery are to be revealed in due course.

Valentine said: “This is a project that I’m extremely passionate about and I am only embarking on it because I’m confident that victory is within our reach. Having spent the last few years working for manufacturer teams in BSB and WSBK, it feels good to be bringing ValMoto out of retirement and returning to the roads seems a fitting and high profile way to make our return.

Gary is an extremely talented rider and the F3 675 is a great bike – I’m sure the pairing of the two will be a recipe for success and a reason for me to celebrate another successful TT.”

Gary Johnson said: “I’m really looking forward to this year’s road racing season running the MV Agusta F3 675 under the ValMoto banner. Jack is one of the most experienced team owners in the industry with a first class reputation and a proven success record on the roads. I’m honoured to be part of the team and am confident that together we can achieve some positive results this year.”
