Rutter Breaks Leg in Testing

2013 Honda TT Legends Team

British Superbike stalwart Michael Rutter faces a battle to be fit for the opening test of the 2013 season at Donington Park in just ten days time after a crash in France. Rutter was testing the Honda TT Legends Endurance Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade at Dunlops own test track at Miravel where the team had stopped off en-route to Albacete in Spain for early season testing.

The experienced Rutter crashed yesterday on day two of the shakedown and following an x-ray was diagnosed with a break at the base of his tibia. Rutter has since returned home while the team continue on with their trip to Spain to carry out their comprehensive test schedule over Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of next week.

Rutter said “It didn’t feel too bad at first and I was walking around after the crash but we thought it was best to get an x-ray done just to be sure. That revealed a crack at the base of my tibia near the ankle joint. I was given crutches and a temporary cast so I can get back to the UK and get it sorted out. Hopefully it won’t take too long to heal and I’ll be back on the bike as soon as possible.”
