Tommy Bridewell is set to return to Ian Woollacott’s Honda squad for 2013 alongside veteran Michael Rutter sponsored by Bathams.
Things were looking uncertain for west countryman Bridewell as Italian team Supersonic BMW for who he raced in 2012, taking them into the BSB 3-round title showdown, failed to find the backing to race in Britain for 2013.
The team, managed by Ian Woollacott used to run under the Quay Garage Racing banner and ran Bridewell in 2010, 2011 achieving podiums. The team took a sabbatical for 2012 due to issues with funding however are back under the new banner of Batham’s Honda and looking to carry on where they left off.
Joining Bridewell will be veteran Michael Rutter, the 2010 showdown contender had a difficult season on the MSS Kawasaki for 2012 despite early showings of promise. Rutter will be riding on the roads for Honda TT Legends in 2013, so shows no signs of giving up just yet. He will take sponsor Bathams with him to Ian Woollacott Racing.
The stunning livery of the new Batham’s Honda was revealed today at the MCN Motorcycle show, it is black, gold & white and Woollacott has even decided he likes the headlight stickers (compulsory in WSB) enough to put them on his BSB bikes. Pics from the launch when we get them.
Testing for the 2013 BSB season begins on March 14th at Donington Park, you can view the updated list of BSB riders here.
