Kawasaki Racing Team launch 2013 World Superbike Effort

Well, it’s green…

The factory Kawasaki Racing Team have launched their 2013 World Superbike effort today at a press conference in Barcelona. The team presented riders Tom Sykes, Loris Baz alongside the the 2013 ZX10R they will campaign in the World Superbike championship and Kawasaki officials from Japan and Europe. The launch was also streamed live on Facebook.

The Kawasaki Racing Team, managed by Provec with Tom Sykes took Kawasaki to their best result in many years by claiming the runner up spot in 2013, only half a point from eventual champion, Italian Max Biaggi. Youngster Loris Baz joined the team midway through the season after Joan Lascorz was badly injured in a testing accident. Baz impressed in his debut half season, finding himself on the podium at Brno before winning his first ever race at Silverstone.

Tom Sykes said: “We’ve come from a long way back, in 2012 myself, the team, Kawasaki the sponsors came a long way, though we lost the championship to a very strong rider, Max Biaggi – hopefully we can take that extra step in 2013”
