Shaun Muir has announced his much awaited 2013 line up. The team will run twice Australian Superbike Champion, Josh Waters alongside former BSB runner up, James Ellison. The team also have a new title sponsor in Milwaukee tools, after losing Swan after 3 successive years.

Waters won the Australian Superbike Championship in 2009 and 2012 on a Suzuki. Waters has ridden in the World Superbike class before, competing in 3 rounds with Yoshimura Suzuki in 2011. Waters also came 2nd with Yoshimura Suzuki at the Suzuka 8hr in 2011. Waters intentions to turn his career to the international stage became clear when he tested the Crescent Fixi Suzuki at the first World Superbike test at Portimao after Sylvain Guintoli shunned the team. Rumours that Waters would join Camier in Paul Denning’s squad were silenced when it was announced that Julez Cluzel would be taking that ride. Quick Aussie’s in BSB aren’t an unusual thing, Troy Bayliss won the championship in 1999. More recently Josh Brookes has been a title contender for the last three years and Mark Aitchison has also re-signed for Splitlath Aprilia, making it three Aussies in BSB next year.

James Ellison had what most would call a successful year on board the PBM ART machine in the MotoGP CRT class. A large handful of points finishes and several top tens weren’t enough for Paul Bird to keep Ellison in MotoGP for 2013 (opting for Michael Laverty instead, it would seem). The 2009 British Superbike runner up returns to Shaun Muir’s team, which he won races with in 2010 albeit on a Honda not the Yamaha.

Muir’s team certainly have pedigree, 2011 British Superbike Champions and multiple race winners. Waters & Ellison have big shoes to fill, with the teams 2012 riders, 2011 BSB champion Tommy Hill taking a year out from the sport and former world superbike ace Noriyuki Haga expected to retire.

William Dunlop will also ride for the team in the British Supersport Championship and on the roads.
